AO NPTs Nedra (city of Yaroslavl, the company is a part of Rosgeo state parent company) finished 1,000 meter drilling of Transbaikal stratigraphic well. The object is located in the Transbaikal territory.

The works are performed in compliance with Rosnedra’s state assignment given by FSBI VSEGEI to make a state network of geological and geophysical survey base lines, parametric and super-deep wells in the Far Eastern and Siberian Federal Districts in 2017-2019.

During drilling and exploration of the Transbaikal well, new parametric geological and geophysical information was obtained on the poorly studied Borschovochny block within the Transbaikal fragment of the Eastern area of 1-SB survey base line. It will serve to increase the efficiency of geological interpretation of these deep survey works in the South-Eastern Transbaikal.

Drilling of the parametric well was started in September 2017.  The pilot shaft floor reached 1,000 meters by November 30, 2018.

The planned depth of the well is 4, 000 linear meters; the drilling will reach 2,600 m at the first stage.

Today, a set of geological and technological and geophysical surveys, and also the tests of beds in the well log’s open part in the advance and pilot boreholes have been made. Rapid and detailed petrophysical and gas-geochemical studies of stone material and fluids were conducted. As a result, a comprehensive characteristic of the Borschovochny block’s upper crust was obtained and a preliminary parametric section of the well was made.

In the advance borehole 709, 9 linear m of core (77%) was selected. In the pilot borehole the selection was conducted in the intervals of 783.5-799.0 m.

The amount of the material is sufficient for laboratory and analytical studies. Primary documentation, inventory and photographing were made in field conditions.

Then, the material was delivered to the stationary core storage of AO NPTs Nedra (city of Yaroslavl), where it was finally processed and prepared for laboratory studies and long-term storage. A standard collection of core and petrographic thin sections was made.

The databases of the test results were made; an information and geological report on the performed work was drawn up.
