The article is devoted to the problem of developing fields with high viscosity oils and bitumen, which has become extremely relevant in the context of substantial rise in energy costs. Despite the fact that a number of highly effective methods of bottomhole zone and oil reservoir treatment have been developed since that time, the challenge of cost-effective production of bitumens, high-viscosity and low-grade oil still has to be met. Coiled tubing technologies together with the opportunities for permeability increase or for sealing areas of formation fluids and working agent leakage with the help of the power of controlled shockwaves provide an economical and ecological solution for development of high-viscosity and low-grade oils, bitumens and other caustobioliths.
