GASFRAC Energy Services Inc. has signed a technical cooperation agreement (TCA)
with Green Field Energy Services, under which the two companies will work jointly
toward a technical solution that would enable their respective proprietary oil
and gas production enhancement technologies to be combined.
The use of Green Field's turbine frac pumps (TFPs) to deliver GASFRAC's gelled
LPG technology would offer oil and gas producers unparalleled well performance
with a sharply reduced environmental impact.
"We have the potential through this agreement to develop a second-to-none well
stimulation technology for our customers," said Zeke Zeringue, president and chief
executive officer of GASFRAC. "It will take some time to solve the engineering
challenges of combining our system with Green Field's, but there's a likely win-win
here for both our companies."
GASFRAC currently delivers its proprietary liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stimulation
services through conventional diesel-powered pressure pumping units. LPG technology
delivers higher oil and gas recovery rates without the environmental challenges
of fracturing with water.
Green Field has developed a unique split shaft turbine-powered frac pump that
is capable of multiple fuel sources including natural gas. The TFP offers dramatically
improved energy efficiency, reduced emissions, a smaller physical footprint and
exceptional power density. The objective of the TCA between the two companies
is to enable GASFRAC's technology to be delivered through Green Field's turbine
frac pump.
Rick Fontova, president of Green Field, added, "Combining GASFRAC's waterless
fracturing technology along with Green Field Energy Services' clean turbine pumping
technology provides customers with the industry's most environmentally friendly
hydraulic fracturing solution."
