This year the student chapter of SPE is running is organizing the 7th annual international scientific and practical Congress “Oil and Gas Horizons 2015” at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. Congress will be held from 24th to 26th November.

Organizers of this event are actively working on expanding the geography of participants. On the 6th congress there were students and specialists from seven countries. This year participants from new counties are expected.

Here are main aims and objectives of oil and gas horizons:

• creating the basis for young specialists to interchange ideas, experience and technologies
• strengthening of a scientific collaboration and a business intercourse between Russian and foreign specialists
• determination of most actual tendencies of scientific and technical development in oil and gas field

Since last congress there is a differentiation of format of scientific work presentation to two types: a lecture in front of  auditorium and a lecture on a specially assigned ground. Every participant may choose the most effective and comfort option for his presentation and deliver his lecture on following themes:

• earth sciences: geology, geophysics, petrophysics
• drilling and pumping: drilling technologies, drilling liquids, well pumping equipment
• oil and gas fields development: layer physics, oil and gas equipment
• transportation and storing: transporting and storing of hydrocarbons and products of oil refining
• chemical technology and ecology: oil refining, gas recovering, chemical technologies in oil and gas industry, ecological aspects in oil and gas field
• mechanics and technical service: oil and gas equipment, measuring tools, mechanical engineering
• automation and computer technologies: systems of control, electricity supply, electronics and electrical technical engineering in oil and gas field
• oil and gas ecology and management
• alternative sources of energy
• developing and exploitation of marine deposits in Arctic

For more effective interchanging of knowledge and experience and for non-formal contact all comers will be able to go for sightseeing tours around Moscow and for other evening events.
