Leading russian experts believe that “Energy Strategy of Russia” needs serious review

07 February 2013 in Moscow, in the framework of the preparation to the XI Moscow International Energy Forum “Russian Energy and Fuel Complex in the XXI century” was held the round table “World Energy: On the Threshold of Major Changes. The place of Russia in Global Energy Markets by 2020.” in the format of an open meeting of the Program Committee of the MIEF-2013 with the participation of russian and foreign experts.
  
07 February 2013 in Moscow, in the framework of preparation to the XI Moscow International Energy Forum “Russian Energy and Fuel Complex in the XXI century”, in the State Geological Museum. Vernadsky was held the round table “World Energy: On the Threshold of Major Changes. The place of Russia in Global Energy Markets by 2020.”
 
In work of the round table was attended by the leading experts of Russia in the international energy markets, the developers of the Energy Strategy of Russia, representatives of a number of leading economic institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professors of the leading Moscow Universities (Lomonosov Moscow State University, MGIMO (U) of the MFA of Russia, NIU HSE and diplomats). Big business was represented by experts of “Rosatom” and “Gazprombank”.
 
Among the speakers  a number of experts who are recognized by expert community: S. Bobylev, L. Grigoriev, A. Gromov, G. Ivashentsov, A. Konoplyanik, T. Mitrova, B. Nigmatulin, V. Cybulski, L. Ryabev.
 
There were analyzed the newest tendencies of development of world hydrocarbon market in connection with the provisions of the effective Energy Strategy of Russia until 2030.
 
The experts came to the unanimous conclusion that the energy strategy of Russia needs a serious review and adjustment, due to the new long-term trends of energy development, and pointed to the necessity of the soonest adoption of the new strategic decisions at the state and corporate levels, including speed up the resolution of issues of normative-legal regulation of the launch of new investment projects for production of LNG, priority development of the renewable and distributed power generation, stimulation of domestic demand for fuel and energy resources through the development of processing industries.
