During their visit to Gomel the representatives of PO Belorusneft and JSC Zarubezhneft approved the basic principles of flow scheme and the plan of primary measures of experimental and field operations performed on the basis of thermal and gas EOR techniques. Based on the assessment of foreign specialists, such methods for enhanced oil recovery are considered as one of the most promising.

To test the technology, the Belarusian side has allocated a site within the inter-salt deposit of Vishansky oilfield located in the Gomel district. The preparatory stage is planned to include arrangement of test area, and a complex of geological and technical measures. The specialists will have to specify geological, hydrodynamic, and technological parameters of development, prepare the equipment required. It is expected that the specialist will start field operations on the site by the middle of the next year.

Implementation of “Visha-Termogaz” Project will be a starting point of cooperation with the Russian specialists within “Souznefteotdacha” consortium, which now includes KazMunayGaz Company that joined the consortium this year.

Innovative activity of Belarusian, Kazakh, and Russian specialists on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Community consists in development and implementation of advanced technologies of oil recovery in different regions of the world, as well as in provision of engineering and consultation services, calculation and analytical works. Through joint efforts it is also planned to prepare technical and economic projects, give recommendations on production organization.
