With commercial production throughout the company’s fields having commenced in April 2012, total cumulative production by Gazprom Neft – NOVATEK joint venture ARKTIKGAZ has now reached 30 billion cubic metres of natural gas. Significant production growth has been achieved as a result of three ARKTIKGAZ fields reaching target production volumes: the Samburgskoye field in December 2014, the Urengoyskoye field in March 2015, and the Yaro-Yakhinskoye field in June 2015.
ARKTIKGAZ now has a total 158 active productive wells. Planned production across all ARKTIKGAZ fields amounts to more than 25 billion cubic meters of natural gas and more than seven million tonnes of gas condensate per year.
Denis Sugaipov, Head of Gazprom Neft’s Upstream Major Projects, commented: “Today’s cumulative production volumes are the result of hard and responsible work on the part of all ARKTIKGAZ employees. The company is now one of the leading companies in Russia in terms of production growth. I have no doubt that ARKTIKGAZ will maintain this impetus in its development.”
JSC ARKTIKGAZ, under the joint and equal control of NOVATEK and Gazprom Neft, holds E&P licences for the Samburgskoye field, and for geological prospecting and production at the Evo-Yakhinskoye, Yaro-Yakhinskoye and Severo-Chaselskoye blocks. As at 31 December 2014, proven reserves held by ARKTIKGAZ totalled 695 billion cubic metres of gas and 127 million tonnes of liquid hydrocarbons.
The first phase of development at the Samburgskoye field (part of the Samburgskiy licence block) was brought into production in April 2012, the second in December 2012, and the third in September 2014. Total capacity at the field is estimated at seven billion cubic metres of natural gas, and 0.9 million tonnes of condensate per year.
