Belarusian specialists continue to successfully develop the Armadillo field in Ecuador. In the week, another high-yield well was drilled here which was the seventh in a row. It was commissioned with a daily production level of 74 tons of anhydrous oil.
As a reminder, at the end of December, Belorusneft already reported on successful drilling in Ecuador. At that time, the 6th well, drilled to a depth of 3,496 m, was put into operation. Its daily production rate exceeded 60 tons of oil per day.
Thanks to the commissioning of these two facilities, the daily oil production at Armadillo increased by 150 tons, and is 400 tons of oil.
Andrei Bokhan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Service Oil Ecuador EcuaServOil JSC:
«At the end of last year, the company started a new drilling program. And the first two wells gave an excellent result. Even more than we expected. The geological model and resource base, which was determined by Belarusian specialists, including BelNIPIneft, was fully confirmed. Taking into account the results achieved in the first five wells drilled the year before last, we plan to increase oil production at the field almost twice in a year or two - up to 200 thousand tons per year».
In 2019, five more wells are planned to be drilled at the Ecuadorian field. Among other tasks for the year is to complete the system of collection, preparation of oil and commercial accounting of products, connect this node to the transport infrastructure created in 2018.
Reference: In 2013, a subsidiary of Belorusneft, Service Oil Ecuador EcuaServOil, has been operating in the Republic of Ecuador under an agreement with the state-owned oil producing company Petroamazonas, Belarusians are engaged in production optimization, infrastructure development, geological exploration, and drilling and repair work.
The Armadillo deposit is part of block 55, located in the eastern province of Napo. This is the traditional mining region of Ecuador. According to geologists, the Armadillo oil reserves amount to more than 10 million barrels or 1.5 million tons.
