BelNIPIneft and the project institute OPTIMUM intend to promote innovative Belarusian developments in the Kazakh market. It was discussed during the visit to the association "Belorusneft" delegation of top managers of OPTIMUM and JSC Assagan Petroleum. The parties plan to cooperate in the development, interpretation of seismic and geophysical data, geological and hydrodynamic modeling of carbonate reservoirs.
Opportunities and experience of Belarusian oil companies in the development of such reservoirs were interesting for the guests most of all. Assagan Petroleum produces hydrocarbons from carbonate rocks at a relatively small field for the region North-West Zhetybai. It is located in the Mangistau region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, known among oilmen, primarily as Mangyshlak. Assimilation of the asset has been conducted since the 80s of the last century.
During the meeting in Gomel, the readiness of Belarusian specialists to conduct a comprehensive study of the North-West Zhetybaya was emphasized. The goal is to give its a second life, to intensify the development of reserves. For this purpose, the research and engineering center of “Belorusneft” is ready to study the core material and degassed oil, to select the compositions to shut off water, the intensification of the inflow and the technology for conducting and maintaining the acid-proppant hydraulic fracturing of the formation. The delegation was also interested in the opportunity to organize bench tests of the SKIF® technology. The Kazakh side will give a final answer on the prospects of cooperation after studying the commercial offer from the Belarusians.
Belorusneft is a state-owned vertically integrated petroleum company. It is a top performer of the fuel and energy complex of the Republic of Belarus, established in 1966. Belorusneft comprises over 40 subdivisions for oilfield services, engineering, design, gas processing, and petroleum product sales in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Poland.
