The specialists of LLC Belorusneft-Siberia started workover operations in the wells of Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye oilfield. The field is located north-east of Yamal peninsula and represents the largest asset of Russian company NOVATEK. The reserves of the oilfield as of the end of 2014 are estimated to 926 billion cubic meters of gas and 30 million tons of oil. The reserves are developed by JSC Yamal SPG – a joint venture of NOVATEK, French Total and Chinese CNPC.
Large-scale project involves development of production and transportation infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route. Sea port is currently being upgraded, international airport near village Sabetta and LPG plant are under construction; the production of the plant is supposed to be supplied to the foreign markets. The representatives of the company NOVATEK invited Belarusians to take part in the project of Yamal development.
In order to take part in the operations, transport and production services of Belorusneft-Siberia arranged the delivery of necessary equipment and machinery from Gubkinskiy to Arkhangelsk by rail, and from there to Sabetta port by sea. The workover team was mobilized for taking part in the project. In spite of the technical difficulties and severe climatic conditions, Belarusian experts using the mobile unit for workover and drilling of wells AP-80 could successfully revive the killed well No. 2471 on the 47th well cluster of Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye gas field. Now the well resumed its normal operation.
Production program with the involvement of Belarusians is designed for a three year period. In future it is planned to increase the number of workover teams there. The main task for them will be workover operations and testing of wells.
