Belorusneft, partners to prospect for hydrocarbons in Ecuador

The Belarusian-Ecuadorian-Chilean consortium made of the Belarusian company Belorusneft, the Ecuadorian company Petroamazonas, and the Chilean company Enap Sipec has signed a contract with the Hydrocarbons Secretariat of Ecuador on prospecting for and developing hydrocarbons in Block 28 in Ecuador's Amazonian region, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Taking part in the ceremony to sign the contract were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ecuador Igor Poluyan, Ecuadorian Minister Coordinator of Strategic Sectors Rafael Poveda Bonilla, representatives of other government agencies and the diplomatic corps.
During the event the Belarusian ambassador talked briefly with the ministers and Ambassador of Chile to Ecuador Gabriel Ascencio Mansilla. The sides shared views on the state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the surveying and extraction of hydrocarbon resources, said the source.
Belorusneft is a state-owned vertically integrated petroleum company. It is a top performer of the fuel and energy complex of the Republic of Belarus, established in 1966. Belorusneft comprises over 40 subdivisions for oilfield services, engineering, design, gas processing, and petroleum product sales in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Poland.
