Oil free flowing was obtained at Rechitsa field by drilling of the exploratory well No. 202 on the eastern block of the Lansky-Stary Oskol deposit at a depth of 2,826-2,870 m. Initial production was almost 100 tonnes of oil per day.
A new deposit was discovered at the stage of supplementary exploration of producing fields while developing Lansky-Stary Oskol horizon. Drilling of the well was planned based on the research results of BelNIPIneft young scientists and was launched in August 2014. Total vertical depth reached 2,875 m, exposed oil saturated reservoir thickness is 21.1 m, reservoir pressure corresponds to the initial pressure (27.1 MPa).
According to the on-going estimates, potential geologic reserves of new deposits comprise 1,048 thousand tonnes, including 315 thousand tonnes of recoverable reserves.
Now preparations are being conducted for placing these reserves on the State balance as well as their involvement in the development of Rechitsa field. Based on the results of vertical seismic profile and operation evaluation of well No. 202, project fund has been scheduled and placed on this block, including the drilling of 4 production and 1 injection wells.
Discovery of a new deposit confirms the fact that despite the exploration degree of Rechitsa field geology, its resource potential is not completely exhausted. In addition, it has become a successful trial of strength for the joint Belarusian-Italian project, the first echelon rig “Drillmec”-“Seismotekhnika” intended for cluster drilling. It was echelon rig that drilled the well where oil influx was achieved. We recall that Gomel-based Seismotekhnika and Italian company Drillmec S.p.A started the installation release.
