Gazprom Neft and Weatherford enter into a technology cooperation agreement

Vadim Yakovlev, the First Deputy General Director of “Gazprom Neft” and Lance Marklinger, President of Global Sales for Weatherford International plc, signed a technology cooperation agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The agreement is valid for five years and is intended to further develop current business relationships and collaborations between the two companies.

Under the signed document, the parties agree to exchange operational and technological information for analysis, with the aim of identifying innovative solutions that will improve the efficiency, operational performance of both companies. In the course of implementing joint projects, Weatherford will commit to the development of technical workshops and training sessions for specialists of “Gazprom Neft” with regards to the application of technologies in consideration.

“The successive steps made by 'Gazprom Neft' to improve its efficiency imply the transformation of the entire operational process. Today, our company is implementing the culture of continuous improvement, and application of state-of-the-art technologies is part of this integrated project. An agreement with Weatherford aimed at implementation of advanced solutions in the oilfield services business shall ensure synergy from utilization of experience and research and production potential of our companies,” noted Vadim Yakovlev, the First Deputy General Director of “Gazprom Neft”.
