Gazprom Neft boosts production of Cenomanian gas

Gazpromneft-Muravlenko has brought on stream a new multiple well pad in the gas-producing zone of Muravlenko field. Expanding that zone will allow the company to increase its gas production in 2013 by more than 20 percent over the previous year, up to 4 billion cubic meters, and maintain that level for the next ten years. Gazprom Neft plans to produce a total of 5 billion cubic meters of Cenomanian gas in 2013, which is roughly 4 million tons of oil equivalent.
 
Gazprom Neft began developing two Cenomanian gas deposits inside Muravlenkovskoe and Novogodneye fields in early 2011 (both fields belong to Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz). They are part of the brown oil and gas fields operated by the company. The 2011 results increased the gas reserves estimation of Muravlenkovkoe field. The company was able to boost the field’s economics by supplying more gas to the market and drilling four new wells in 2012. The use of existing infrastructure has provided synergy. At present, 24 wells located on five multiple well pads are in operation at the field.
 
Gazprom Neft’s operations have been distinguished by the use of automated production management technologies. Modern field equipment helps cut the number of operational personnel constantly present in the field. All the specialists have to do is to monitor the proper functioning of the equipment and perform regular maintenance procedures.
 
Development of the small gas deposits that exist at Gazprom Neft’s oil fields and selling additional volumes of gas allowed the company to improve the economics of its reserves. Gazprom Neft is continuing to assess the prospects of developing gas reserves at the Sutorminskoye, Usmeiskoye, an Yety-Purovskoye fields.
