Located in the Purovsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Severo-Stakhanovsky license block covers an area of 2,082.9 square kilometres, adjacent to the Stakhanovsky and Valyntoisky license blocks already under development by Gazprom Neft subsidiary Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz. According to data from the Federal Agency for Mineral Reserves, recoverable D1 (perspective) hydrocarbon reserves comprise 6.4 million tonnes of oil, 47.7 billion cubic metres of gas, and 3.6 million tonnes of condensate. The block contains the Severo-Stakhanovskoye and Severo-Yokhturskoye fields, with 597,000 tonnes of C1 and 634,000 tonnes of C2 recoverable reserves.

The Novoromanovsky license block (whose 110 square-kilometre area covers the Purovsky and Nadymsky districts of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, where the Romanvosky field, already under development by Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz, is located) abuts various other blocks owned by the company, the infrastructure for which will be used in developing this new asset. Recoverable D1 reserves comprise 4.6 million tonnes of oil, 500,000 cubic metres of gas, and 40,000 tonnes of condensate.

The Puhutsyayakhsky license block is located on the Gydan Peninsula in the Tazovsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, covering an area of 825 square kilometres. Official estimates put recoverable D1 hydrocarbon reserves at 1.6 million tonnes of oil, 19.8 million cubic metres of gas, and 1.4 million tonnes of condensate.

The Puhutsyayakhsky block abuts Gazprom Neft’s previously acquired Leninsky block, and forms part of the company’s major exploration cluster in the north—east of Gydan. This new asset is under-researched, and is a significant distance from transport facilities and oil and gas infrastructure. Gazprom Neft will be undertaking a range of seismic works in its initial investigations into this asset in order to clarify the block’s geological construction and resource potential.
