Gazprom Neft and systems integrator Lanit-Tercom (part of the LANIT group) have developed a virtual platform for the online monitoring of laboratory-based core analysis — analysis of rock samples taken from oil and gas fields. This service will save up to 30% of the current manpower and labour costs involved in external laboratory analysis and make it possible to attract new partners to activities quickly.

The platform will improve operational efficiency in the procurement process for core- and fluid-analysis, as well as improving the quality of specialist support for geophysical exploration programmes. The system will allow upstream businesses at Gazprom Neft to select the kinds of investigations they need, and reserve the necessary laboratory capacities, in advance. Scientific and research organisations will also be able to post their proposals and offerings in organising core-sample analysis, on the platform.

The programme also allows users to control the scheduling of investigations in submitting orders, as well as offering full electronic document management. A web-based version of the platform is currently available to laboratories working with Gazprom Neft.
