Importance of data acquisition to be discussed at ICOTA event
12.04.2012
Well integrity and solutions for maximizing recovery will be the focus of the latest lunch and learn session, hosted by leading oil and gas industry body ICoTA European Chapter next week.
Tendeka’s regional sales manager for Europe, Neil Anderson, will discuss the company’s field-proven production optimization technologies and completions, which help operators to reduce costs, optimize production and effectively manage their reservoirs.
Mr Anderson will also discuss solutions for remediating seal bore damage particularly in the areas of Down-hole Safety Valves where conventional chevron type seals are no longer effective. Successful application of this technology can significantly extend the operating life of the DHSV and delay costly work-over activities and loss of well production.
An additional case history on utilizing Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) cable will also be presented at the session. This cable can be used to identify production problems, such as, tubing leaks and underperforming gas lift systems in the wellbore thermal profile. When this system is deployed, definitive data acquisition can be obtained at the well site on demand, thereby reducing operation and rig time.
The lunch, which will be held at The Marcliffe Hotel on Tuesday, April 17, will run from 11.30am to 13.45pm. It is the fourth in a series of events being held by ICoTA Europe this year, leading to the company’s 7th Well Intervention seminar in Stavanger, Norway on May 31, 2012.
ICoTA Europe chairman, Callum Munro, said “ICoTA Europe’s Lunch and Learn events present excellent opportunities to discuss and share best practices and this particular session will show how new technology is addressing specific down-hole issues and offering solutions. In exploring these case histories, organizations can utilize the knowledge gained to save both valuable time and money, whilst maximizing production.”
He added: “Our events are a fantastic way to network with some of the leading figures in the European intervention and coiled tubing industry, and we welcome anyone with an interest in the topic to come along.”
