A new Digital Innovation Centre is being established at Gazprom Neft, for the development and implementation of digital technologies in logistics, processing and sales. As part of its activity, the Centre will bring together Russian technology and IT start-ups, developers and the scientific community to pool resources to research and develop innovative solutions that will improve business efficiency.

The Digital Innovation Centre will be focused on developing breakthrough digital products to develop a single and inclusive technological platform for Gazprom Neft’s business in terms of logistics, processing and sales. It will aim to integrate all elements of the value chain into a single digital space, allowing Gazprom Neft to more flexibly and efficiently manage process efficiency through predictive analysis and data usage, in real time.

The Centre will focus on developing and utilising “Big Data”, blockchain technology, predictive management, digital twin technology, the Internet of Things, AI-based self-learning tools and more, throughout Gazprom Neft’s business.

In the process of researching the optimal technologies to support the Company’s digital transformation, the Digital Innovation Centre will collaborate proactively with all elements of the innovation ecosystem — start-ups, developers, and the scientific community. Partners and start-ups will also have the opportunity to test and evaluate their own products under conditions very similar to actual production, at the Gazprom Neft Industrial Automation Technology Park in Omsk, or within the Centre itself.

The “Open Innovation Model”, on which the work of the Digital Innovation Centre will be based, will make it possible for the most advanced solutions for developing Gazprom Neft’s business to be adopted as quickly and efficiently as possible. In the future, the Centre also plans to hold “hackathons” and specialist technological sessions for innovators.*

Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Management Board, Gazprom Neft, commented: “The world around us is changing fast. We are now faced with the challenge of realising the full-scale digital transformation of our business, to deliver radical improvements in business efficiency. This transformation will not be possible without researching and introducing digital solutions as quickly as we can. To that end, we have set ourselves a significant task — to engage all elements of Russia’s innovation ecosystem in the process of developing new industrial digital technologies.”
