Domestic enterprises, i.e. Seismotekhnika, OJSC and FID Group, have squeezed up the foreign manufacturers and main suppliers of oil and gas equipment for Belorusneft association.

Gomel engineering enterprise is going through a new stage of its development. In a period of 2 years of cooperation with the Italian company Drillmec S.p.A., which now is a principal shareholder of Seismotekhnika, OJSC (51% of shares), Gomel enterprise has mastered production of fixed drilling rigs with working capacity of 345 tons (760,600 lbs) under Drillmec trademark, extended a range of mobile drilling units designed for well workover.

But the main task, which the shareholders of Gomel company set themselves, includes not only a range extension and improvement of quality of well drilling and workover units. First of all, their task is to bring Seismoyekhnika, OJSC to one level with the leading oilfield equipment manufacturers of the CIS countries. At the first stage the Italian party is considering Gomel enterprise as a platform for export of Drillmec drilling equipment to the markets of the former Soviet Union. It is planned to extend foreign sales volumes in the future.

This year Seismotekhnika, OJSC has finished the production of mobile unit with a capacity of 200 tons (441,000 lbs). It is a first suchlike unit manufactured on the territory of CIS countries. This new unit is designed for Mozyr oil exploratory expedition for deep-hole drilling of Belgeologiya enterprise. In 2013 Gomel enterprise will produce two train drilling rigs Drillmec-1500 intended for pad drilling. This equipment is planned to be sent to Western Siberia.

Among other projects of Gomel mechanic engineers one can find development of new technologies and production of hydraulic drill rigs NN 350/375, as well as extension of the range of well workover and drilling units with capacities up to 250 tons (551,000 lbs).

In order to perform all of these tasks mechanic engineers have to go through a major modernization and optimization of manufacturing processes. The personnel should master Italian technologies. Mechanic engineers also have to work on cost reduction and improvement of produced equipment quality. Nowadays the enterprise’s products are certified to the compliance with the standards of the American Petroleum Institute (API).
