OAO TATNEFT Ensures Stable Operation of Oilfields

A set of technical/technological and organizational measures to provide for a stable and accident-free operation of oilfield facilities is being implemented at OAO TATNEFT in order to ensure the environmental safety of crude oil production.
 
Significant impact on the reliability of oilfield equipment at the facilities of the Company is a result of application of corrosion resistant pipes, as well as application of the corresponding inhibitors and cathodic protection against corrosion. In the first half of 2012 OAO TATNEFT produced 449.6 km of corrosion resistant pipes and 3,044.9 tons of corrosion inhibitors.
 
143 wells were equipped with cathodic protection and corrosion-resistant paint/varnish coating was applied on 1,000 square meters of vertical steel tanks.
 
Particular attention is paid to monitoring the environmental situation in the area of the Company’s activity, preventing and reducing the negative environmental impact of crude oil production for all ecosystem components. The chloride and petroleum products’ content in the major rivers of oil-producing region of the Republic is stably maintained within the established norms. 9591 water sample analyses of surface water reservoirs and drinking water sources were performed during the first half of 2012.
 
The air monitoring is performed at the settlements located in the area of OAO TATNEFT’s activity In accordance with the approved schedule, 5,856 air samples were analyzes during six months of the year.
 
High efficiency of environmental measures implemented by the Company in the region of its activity is confirmed by prestigious federal awards. At the prestigious Federal Contest "100 Best Companies of Russia. Ecology and Environmental Management", which results were summarized in the first half of 2012, OAO TATNEFT was awarded a title of a laureate. The Company was also named a winner in a special nomination "For improving reliability of oilfield equipment and facilities".
