JSC TATNEFT continues developing advanced technologies for reservoir pressure maintenance (RPM), aimed at reducing energy costs and increasing production efficiency. With their help, the Company's professionals ensure protection of injection wells' downhole equipment against high pressure and corrosion, as well as provide for all round optimization of the RPM processes.

Implementation of the program to protect production casing strings against high pressure and corrosive destruction was continued in the first half of 2014 for protection of the injection wells' downhole equipment with installation of 243 M1-X packers. Overall, 4,313 injection wells of the Company have been equipped with M1-X packers since the beginning of their installation. Totally more than 60 percent of the current injection well stock of the Company has been equipped with very leaktight packers.

The DCI technology (Dual completion and injection) has been implemented in 42 injection wells for the six months period of the current year. Currently, this technology has been applied in 610 wells. Additional production due to the introduction of the DCI technology amounted to over 1.3 million tons.

Operation of high-tech KAMAT and VEPUKO volumetric displacement pumping units continued to optimize the energy consumption in the reservoir pressure maintenance system. Those pumps were implemented at 8 cluster pumping stations (CPS). Specific costs of water injection for RPM at these CPS were reduced by 1.5-2 times as compared to the conventional pumping units.

TATNEFT is one of the largest, internationally recognized Russian oil companies, operating as a vertically integrated Group. The Company’s production accounts for about 8% of all crude oil production in the Russian Federation and over 80% of crude oil produced in Tatarstan.
