Rimera’s Czech Plant to Ship Valves to South Korea

MSA plant, the Czech asset of Rimera Group, has been contracted to supply ball valves to the South Korean company KOGAS (Korea Gas Corporation). The valves will fetch almost 1.5 million euro in revenue.

They will be supplied to the South Korean company as part of a new project to build a gas pipeline and gas distribution stations in South Korea outside the city of Ansan.

Eighty-five 4” – 30” Class 600 ball valves will be shipped to KOGAS under the contract during October and November of this year. MSA will manufacture valves for both surface and subsurface installation. The ball valves will be fitted with manual drives and some of them also with Rotork fluid system actuators. As before, KOSAFE will perform acceptance of valves for KOGAS.

The Korean Peninsula is one of the most promising markets for MSA. The plant has been cooperating with KOGAS since 2001, with last year’s shipments to this state-owned South Korean company hitting an all-time record in excess of 12 million euro.

“Over the 12 years of our win-win partnership, Rimera’s Czech plant has supplied to KOGAS more than 5,000 units of pipeline valves worth upwards of 70 million euro. This makes the South Korean company a strategic partner of Rimera Group in general and the Czech plant in particular,” says MSA Executive Director Vladimir Kononov.
