On April 15-17, Moscow is hosting the 11th International Conference and Exhibition – Mechanized Production 2014. This year, the Rimera team will unveil two new solutions at the conference.

One of them is the new generation of Size 5 (92 mm) piston rod protectors developed by Alnas plant, part of Rimera Group. The piston rod protectors come in two configurations: for traditional wells and for wells with a high reservoir temperature at fields with high-viscosity bituminous oil. The new product is currently undergoing factory testing. Preliminary calculations show that the design and improved arrangement of piston rod protector components reduce the resource intensity of the electric centrifugal pump motor by 15 to 20%. The piston rod protector incorporates five new patented engineering solutions that set the invention apart from known equivalents. The product has been developed in partnership with Tatneft experts.

In addition to piston rod protectors, Rimera is bringing to the conference a new lineup of equipment for operating wells with a high concentration of free gas and mechanical impurities. One of them is a new gas separator developed by the Rimera R&D Center in collaboration with Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. The improved gas separator design minimizes the risk of shear in the vortex zone at the screw inlet. The solution to the shear problem proposed by Rimera currently holds more appeal against the backdrop of rival products (offered by both Russian and overseas vendors) in terms of the cost of the end product.

"Last year we adopted a policy of maximum focus on solving the problems of customers with the help of our equipment. These are the problems faced by companies during mechanized oil production due to operation of difficult wells and the growing share of difficult reserves in the total volume of shares. The trends of new equipment sales last year prove that this policy is justified. At year's end, the financial equivalent of new equipment sales topped 500 million rubles. In light of the new solutions to be unveiled at the April conference, we have confidence that the positive trend will be maintained this year also", says Rimera R&D Center Director Sergei Sibirev.

Product presentations will be available to conference participants.
