AO Volgogradneftegeofizika (the company is a part of Rosgeo state parent company) has completed seismic logging operations of vertical seismic profiling and offset vertical seismic profiling in well No. 12 of the Yuzhno-Kislovsk field.

The area is promising for oil and gas. The company carries out seismic exploration pursuant to the agreement concluded with the subsoil user company in July of this year. The well is located in the Bykovsky District of the Volgograd Region.

The exploration will allow to study the velocity model and the subsurface structure as well as the reflecting and absorbing properties of the rock. It will help to make the conclusions about the oil and gas prospects of the area and shape a plan for further geological exploration.

The field work has been completed so far. In total, 7, 950 linear meters of vertical seismic profiling and offset vertical seismic profiling data were registered. Now the obtained materials are being processed and interpreted, after which the final report will be prepared for the customer. The company expects to submit the report by the end of October.
