JSC Soyuzmorgeo (Gelendzhik, the enterprise is part of the ROSGEO state holding) has completed the development of regional geological structural and petroleum models of the southern maritime region of Russia. The Azov-Black Sea basin and the continental margins of Northern Eurasia were studied. The specialists have analyzed and summarized the modern geological and geophysical materials and the results of the work performed by the JSC Soyuzmorgeo in the past years on different seas of the Russian Federation.

As a result, preliminary montages of regional maps and charts were drawn that characterize the structure of the basement and the sedimentary cover of potentially hydrocarbon bearing areas: seismic and drilling exploration maturity of the Black Sea-Caspian region water areas and adjacent Ciscaucasian territories, the surface of the heterochronous basement, main structural elements, subsoil of the seabed, oil and gas producing and transport infrastructure, oil and gas provinces, distribution of heterochronous oil and gas source strata, hydrocarbon bearing prospects of the seas of the Black Sea-Caspian region, as well as its classification by the prevailing hydrocarbon phase composition in deposits, manifestations and bottom-soil samples of the water areas.

The submarine continental margins of Northern Eurasia are characterized by montages of survey maps: the surface of heterochronous basement, its regional tectonics, the main structural elements, oil and gas provinces and petroleum transportation infrastructure, the hydrocarbon bearing prospects of continental margins.

The study was carried out at the initiative of the enterprise. The work results will obviously draw attention of potential subsoil users to currently undetected and undeveloped hydrocarbon resources in these regions.
