Rosneft, ahead of the deadlines foreseen by license obligations, completed 2D seismic exploration and related geological exploration work on the East Siberian-1 license area on the shelf of the East Siberian Sea. The research was organized by RN-Shelf-Arctic LLC, a subsidiary of Rosneft..

The work area is one of the most severe in terms of natural and climatic conditions in the Eastern Arctic. The total volume of 2D seismic operations performed was about 4700 running kilometers. During the research, equipment and technologies taking into account the specifics of work in the harsh Arctic seas were used. The obtained information will be processed and analyzed in order to further refine the geological structure of the sedimentary cover, identify potential oil and gas accumulation zones, estimate hydrocarbon resources and plan geological exploration in the subsoil area.

All works are carried out in strict accordance with the requirements of the legislation in the field of environmental and industrial safety. The program of work included industrial environmental monitoring including observations of marine mammals and birds performed by biologists during the entire period of marine operations.
