SPD successfully completed modernization and repair of safety and production critical equipment as part of complete shutdown at the Salym group of oilfields.
During the shutdown the company restored working capacity of the automatic flare ignition system; replaced was air blower with expired service life at the low pressure flare; strengthened electrically insulating collars with composite materials at the CPF inlet manifold in order to minimize the possibility of failure and prevent oil leaks, etc.
SPD specialists checked the production emergency protection systems that must be inspected once in three years.
Denis Paramoshin, Head of Field Operations, who supervised the entire project, said: “This was one of the largest shutdowns from the start of field development in 2005. It involved 160 employees from SPD and contractor organizations. During 36 hours of complete shutdown of the field we performed 50 types of different works”.
Dolf Driessen, Operations Manager, said: “I am glad that SPD performed all the necessary works and started the field again, and all of that was done safely and on schedule. The main goal of complete shutdown is equipment modernization and repair. Through these works our company improves Asset Integrity and Process Safety functionality on an ongoing basis”.
