Surgutneftegas Has Added Crude Production By 27% At The Fields Of Yakutia

Surgutneftegas produced 30,435.8 thousand tons of oil during six months of this year. Compared to the same period of 2011, crude output increase equaled to 1.3%. In particular, crude production in the new region of the Company’s operations namely at the Talakanskoye, Alinskoye, Severo-Talakanskoye fields in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) amounted in January-June 2012 to 3,125 thousand tons, up by 27% compared to the last year.
 
Since the beginning of this year, the Company has produced around 6,065 million cubic metres of gas. Gas utilization rate across the Company as a whole exceeded 97%. Besides, gas is used as fuel for in-house gas turbine and gas piston power plants where power generation covers 35% of Company’s general power requirements.
 
In-house drilling within six months of the current year amounted to 2,392.8 thousand metres of rock including exploratory drilling exceeding 108.8 thousand metres. Compared to January-June of the previous year, development and exploratory drilling grew by 10.5% and 15.8%, respectively.
 
Oil and gas producer Surgutneftegas is one of the largest companies in the Russian oil sector. It accounts for almost 13% of the country’s crude output and 25% of gas produced by domestic oil companies.
