The main requirements of TATNEFT for the system were to ensure the maximum reliability of the data storage, acceleration when working with arrays, scalability, as well as the possibility of additional investment protection over the longer term.

The project, implemented jointly by the professionals from Huawei and the System Technology Department “TATNEFT Digital Development” has allowed significant speed performance improvement of the TATNEFT's corporate information systems. The introduction of an all-flash array based on the Huawei OceanStor Dorado V6 data storage system has provided for increasing the speed performance of corporate systems, and the array performance increase when working with the entire data volume from 2 to 5 times due to its transfer to solid-state drives. The implemented system has also allowed several times speeding up the data backup due to the deep integration of DSS with a data backup system in the data processing center.

An important feature of OceanStor Dorado V6 is that all components have been developed by Huawei, and the array does not contain technologies or components from other manufacturers.

The solutions embedded in the array will allow the professionals of TATNEFT Company continue using the NVMeoF protocol in the data processing center, as well as implementing the concept of geo-reservation of the main IT services.
