ТNК-ВР Invests 15 Million Rubles in Expanding Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Fleet in KhMAO Fields

ТNК-ВР informs that OJSC ТNК-Nyagan (a part of TNK-BP Group of Companies) has invested over 15 million rubles in the creation of a four unmanned aerial vehicles fleet within the 24/7 aerial monitoring program for the Company fields in KhMAO.

TNK-BP is consistently implementing the intelligent oil production management system across the Company. Aerial field monitoring with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles allows controlling the environmental situation and technical condition of oil pipelines in real-time mode. The unmanned aerial vehicles pilot project has been implemented in OJSC Samotlorneftegaz and has proven highly efficient.

"TNK-Nyagan fields have a complex landscape and a lot of hard-to-reach areas. Implementation of the project will secure continuous control over the entire territory of the fields in any weather conditions and will allow a significant reduction in environmental and economic risks", says Evgeny Lapshin, General Director, TNK-Nyagan.

TNK-BP is a leading Russian oil company and is among the top ten privately-owned oil companies in the world in terms of crude oil production. The company was formed in 2003 as a result of the merger of BP’s Russian oil and gas assets and the oil and gas assets of Alfa, Access/Renova group (AAR). BP and AAR each own 50% of TNK-BP. The shareholders of TNK-BP also own close to 50% of Slavneft, a vertically integrated Russian oil company.
