Weatherford ZoneSelect Systems Enhances Efficiency of Multistage Frac Jobs in Siberia

In early 2013, on Samotlorskoye field Weatherford specialists ran a seven-interval ZoneSelect assembly designed for well completion while multistage fracturing. It was installed in the well № 11201S of the pad 4247B, followed by successful frac operations with injection of 65 tons of proppant, milling operations and cleanout.

The project was realized by specialists of some Weatherford PLs and contracting companies. Due to successful results and high efficiency of the previous operation, in mid-March another run of the seven-interval ZoneSelect assembly was performed on the well № 11300С of the same pad at Samotlorskoye field. Upon agreement with OJSC Samotlorneftegaz, an action plan on well completion with ZoneSelect application and a complex set of Weatherford’s integrated services is developed and already approved.

It should be noted that the implementation of multistage fracturing program with application of Weatherford equipment started at the company’s Siberian assets in Nizhnevartovsk Region back in 2012 and covered three fields at once. The pioneer and the first in the list was Koshilskoye field of UNP-1 OJSC NNP, where four-stage frac was tested first on the wells drilled with horizontal tailing-in. Such type of operation is performed without involving workover crews that allows saving not only costs, but also significantly speeding up well completion process after drilling.

Following the frac operations, the first well showed a starting production rate of 60 tons per day. Later ZoneSelect assemblies were also successfully run in holes at Verkhnekolik-Yeganskoye field of OJSC Varyeganneftegaz, where high oil rates were also achieved.
