Gazprom Neft begins pre-commissioning works on the gas treatment unit at its Novoportovskoye field

The gas treatment unit is designed to process associated petroleum gas (APG), with its subsequent reinjection into subterranean strata. At full capacity the facility will utilise more than 95 percent of APG, with positive impacts for the Arctic ecosystem, as well as increasing production volumes at Novoportovskoye field and extending the useful life of the wells.
The process flow for gas injection currently includes the gas treatment unit, comprising four 32 MW gas-compressor units, two gas disposal well clusters, and an extensive gas pipeline network. The complex also includes a dehydration unit and an automated control room allowing round-the-clock monitoring of the equipment’s status and operating conditions.
The processed APG from the facility will also be used as fuel for the GTPP — the largest in the Yamal Peninsula, with a design capacity of 96 MW (with scope for this to increase to 144 MW). Once the gas treatment unit is brought into full operation, the GTPP will supply electricity for social (communal) and domestic needs, as well as to production facilities at the Novoportovskoye field.
