Global Tubing has announced the introduction of its new, patent-pending coiled tubing product, SMARTaper. Its revolutionary design combines conventional wall thickness in the body of the tube with greater wall thickness at the bias weld to produce stronger, operations-optimized tubing strings. SMARTaper enables the coiled tubing operator to realize longer life from their coiled tubing while providing an inherently safer operation. The technology also allows the operator the flexibility to design strings for optimal horizontal reach while managing tubing weight and string overpull characteristics.
