Drilling and oilfield service crews of Belorusneft, JSC update their set of process liquids.
Mass implementation of new generation drilling muds (developed in-house) has started at the fields of Belorusneft. Technical solutions proposed by the specialists of the research and engineering centre of Belorusneft help to prevent drilling problems, speed the work of drilling crews, preserve reservoir properties, and control the conditions of the borehole. This was confirmed by field tests with the use of low-density biopolymer drilling mud (LDBM) and thin clay inhibiting mud (TIM). According to the specialists, their application under Belarusian conditions is an evolutionary step in the area of circulating fluids.
Creation of new recipes established a new important direction: drilling mud services in Belorusneft-Siberia, LLC. This will allow to gradually decline the third-party services. Other recipes are to be introduced under the conditions of the Western Siberia.
Belorusneft’s in-house developments, availability of laboratory base, highly qualified specialists from BelNIPIneft and Well Cementing Department allow not only to improve the local drilling mud services, but also to render advanced technological engineering for oilmen from other countries. The developments of BelNIPIneft are attractive due to their high quality-price ratio.
Meanwhile, Seismotekhnika, JSC started the manufacture of the second mobile drilling unit with a hook load of 200 tons (ARS-200).
The first unit of this type will be operated by the Geology Research and Production Centre, namely, its Mozyr Deep Petroleum Exploration Drilling Expedition. The other ARS-200 unit will be used by Belorusneft. It can drill wells with a depth up to 4 km (13,120 ft.), carry out workover and completion operations in wells up to 7 km (22,960 ft.) deep. It is also designed for pipe tripping, installation of production equipment on the wellhead and elimination of accidents.
It is expected that Seismotekhnika will manufacture two more of these mobile drilling units by the end of this year.
