PKNM To Supply Gazprom Bureniye with Products Worth 200 Million Rubles

The PKNM (Perm Oil Engineering) group of companies will supply Gazprom Burenie with drilling equipment worth nearly 200 million rubles (~6 mln US dollars).
Under the contract, PKNM will produce heavyweight thick-walled drill pipes of various diameters (TBT-89, TBT-127). The pipes are used to create axial stress on the rock cutting tool and transfer rotation torque from the rotor when complex horizontal wells are being drilled.
PKNM’s products will be employed in the East Messoyakhsky oil and gas condensate field. The field is located in the Arctic region – in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, 340 kilometers (211 miles) north of Novy Urengoi.
“In this field, the wells are bent and the pipes’ joints must be of high resistance to wear; that is why, under this contract, we will pad our pipes with special wear-resistant bands” explains Vladimir Zharennikov, director of CJSC “PKNM”.
The pipes are scheduled for delivery late in 2014.
