Izhneftemash (part of Rimera Group) has successfully accomplished testing of a USP-20K new-modification mixing plant manufactured upon request of OAO Surgutneftegaz.

During the trial field tests at the Surgut Cementing Office, the USP-20K mixing plant ran continuously for 30 incident-free days. In the opinion of the customer representatives, the USP-20K plant meets the declared specifications and safety requirements, and can be used at Surgutneftegas drilling facilities.

According to Dmitri Matyunin, Acting Manager of the Surgut Cementing Office, Izhneftemash’s USP-20K equipment has shown excellent performance and suitability for the West Siberian environment as compared with existing equivalents.

“As a result of the successful tests, the customer has decided to purchase the pilot specimen of USP-20K plant. We expect the recommendation issued upon the trial field tests to contribute to the marketing of this product. According to 1H 2015 results, our share in the Russian market of mixing plants has reached 67%”, says Sergey Shunin, Chairman of the Board, OAO Izhneftemash.

The USP-20K plant is designed to prepare cement slurry for cementing oil and gas wells in the course of drilling, completion and workover. The plant’s capacity of 20 cubic meters is divided into two parts allowing to simultaneously prepare drilling, cementing and other process slurries, varying in specifications. The new modification is mounted on eight-wheeled KamAZ 63501 and has an enhanced load-lifting capacity. To improve the plant’s functionality and workability, its control station has been relocated, and the hopper has a double wall to efficiently heat the mix with engine exhaust. The equipment has been designed with active participation of professors and students of the Izhevsk State Technical University named after M.T. Kalashnikov.
