Rimera's Almetyevsk-based plant Alnas will deliver a shipment of 100 submersible wound-wire filters (WWF) of its own design to production companies of Rosneft. A contract for delivery of the first lot has been signed.

These filters were designed in-house by engineers of Rimera Group. Filter design helps to remove mechanical impurities from the wellstream, preventing ingress of hard mechanical particles into the operating members of pumps. The new design reduces hydraulic resistance as the wellstream enters the pump, thereby creating conditions for reliable operation of shaft bearings.

The design of bearing assemblies proposed by Rimera experts contains fewer parts, significantly simplifies the job of well workover crews during installation, and features a high degree of maintainability. The proposed bearing assembly solutions divert mechanical impurities away from the work zone of the bearing friction pair, which is guaranteed to rule out overheating and jamming of bearings. Rimera holds copyright to engineering documentation for the new filter.

“Alnas mastered production of wound-wire filters late last year. The first 50 filters were made to an order from Slavneft, which has confirmed the quality of the new product. The product is highly unified with previously developed basic models and fully replaces them in the plant's product lineup. Annual demand for filters from third-party oil companies is estimated at 250 to 400 units,” says Rimera Group R&D Center Director Sergei Sibiriov.
