In 2018, JSC NPTs Nedra (Yaroslavl, a member of the Rosgeo state holding) abandoned environmentally hazardous wells. The activities planned for the year have been completed.
A state contract for inspection of wells of the unallocated subsoil reserve fund of the Russian Federation and for insulation and abandonment work in those of them hazardous to environment was made between the holding and the Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency last year. The contract term is three years.
The work objective is to improve the environmental situation in the Russian Federation regions associated with industrial influence of deep oil and gas wells drilled using the state funds.
The year 2018 saw field reconnaissance surveys of 200 potentially hazardous objects. The most of them and all the abandoned ones are situated in the densely populated Krasnodar Territory, where priority squeeze cementing operations are also expected to be performed next year.
The 2018 project also specified indicators of electronic files for 500 deep oil and gas wells, uploaded geological input materials for 5,500 objects in the integrated federal register, performed a dimensional analysis of 67,000 records, and prepared the factual basis and a list of 80 wells to be inspected and 20 to be abandoned in 2019.
