The Taimyr seismic land party of geological and geophysical expedition of AO Yuzhmorgeologiya (it is a part of Rosgeo parent company), completed seismic and electroprospecting MT sounding works planned for the year of 2018 in the Novokubalakhsky area. In total, 540 linear km of seismic exploration and 1,200 linear km of electroprospecting were completed.

The Novokubalakhsky area is located in the Taimyr Municipal District of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Rosgeo performs comprehensive field geophysical works at this place to discover oil and gas promising areas. The relevant state contract was concluded in summer 2017 between the parent company and the Department for subsoil use in the Central Siberian District of Rosnedr. The project is funded from the federal budget resources.

The objective of the project is to increase the resources of hydrocarbon raw materials and justify the reserve of subsoil sites for licensing in the area of Balakhninsky and Kubalakhsky bars.

The area of the studied object is 41,812 thousand km2.

The maximum depth of exploration is 15 km; the target interval is 3-6 km.

The works performed at the site will be continued during the winter field season of 2018-2019. It is planned to complete all prospecting works under the state contract by the end of 2019. By that time, 2,600 linear km of the MOGT-2D field seismic survey and electroprospecting will have been completed. Later, the obtained results will be thoroughly processed and interpreted.
