The deepest well in Belarus – No.1 of Predrechitskoye oilfield – has been completed

Its actual depth is 6755 m, while the target depth was 6680 m and it took 901 days to drill it.
The 1st Predrechitskaya was drilled to prospect for hydrocarbon deposits within inter-salt complex sediments and to assess petroleum bearing capacity perspectives of subsalt and upper proterozoic rock complexes within the Predrechitskaya inter-salt trap.
The well was drilled by foreman Sergey Bolshakov's crew.
The previous record was set by the well No.9001g Geologicheskaya which was the deepest in Belarus until recently. Its "deep" record was5553 m. which was reached on August 24, 2008.
